Yep! And of course, it happens while I'm out of town in Frisco. Granted, I did see her take a few steps before I left, but this is out of control! PS. Sorry in advance for the crappy resolution - this was from my cell phone. Still working out the kinks :)
Yep, and yee-haw. I'm out here in Frisco, TX this week learnin' me the ropes about rustlin' and wranglin' code. Yeehaw! Actually, there's really nothing very Texas about Frisco, 'cepting maybe the wide open spaces that are all under construction. It seems that all that is Frisco is a large commercial space with a few roads - there is a large mall that appears to be surrounded by satellite malls and shopping centers, further surrounded by small moons of business parks. I really can't see that anybody actually lives here.
On the plus side, it's not swelteringly hot here. In fact, it's in the mid 80's, however, the 10-day forecast calls for rain every day. And me without an umbrella :/
But I have managed to take in a few movies: Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Spiderman 3. Tomorrow I might take in Die Hard 4, Ocean's 13 or perhaps Evan Almighty. I haven't decided yet. Too bad there isn't another flick from a Marvel franchise, or I could've seen a trifecta! Spidey 3 - better than expected. F4 - about as good as expected. A word to directors of future movies: lay off the fight scenes entirely scripted around computer generated effects. They look so fake. CG characters, ok, I'll buy that, but please, we don't need the camera to swoop in and out and around and over and under and through the entire scene... the mind just can't take it all in.
We got news today - Devin has been scaled back to wearing the helmet only when sleeping. YAY!!!!
Here's an interesting article on some of the world's worst currencies. What's really the most interesting are the interpretations of "what went wrong". Take a peek, I'm sure you easily find the common denominator among the crowd of bad money.

Yeah, I caved. I added Google's AdSense to the blog. Hopefully you don't get too tweaked over it. I'm really more interested to see what sort of crazy junk is "sensed" by reading my posts :)
For example, after my previous post, Sicko, the AdSense cleverly linked to articles on diary farming. Huh? Yeah, that's what I thought too.

One of the joys you'll experience in raising children are the infrequent times in which you, your spouse and your little bundle of joy trade diseases around like Pokemon cards or cat's eye marbles, or whatever kids are trading these days.
Let me clue you in on a little secret: when you have twins, the game gets a whole lot tougher. You may recall I posted a few weeks ago about how everybody in the house was on antibiotics. Well, the kids finished round two, and now Steph and I are on our own round two. Man, this is fun! Father's Day was a blast. I got up, reeled around a bit and crashed back to bed, stricken with pharyngitis (or at least that's what the nurse ticked off on my check-out report). Steph managed to get out of the Doc-In-The-Box with an upper respiratory infection. Man it's more fun than a barrel full of monkeys tossing phlegm around in our house!
The part that really sucks though is that I'm trying to keep away from the kids lest they catch something (again) and give it back to me later (again). That's pretty hard :/
What Every American Should Know About Iraq - The Smirking Chimp
In case the link is broken, you can catch a PDF of the article here. It is a long read, but well-worth if you wish to maintain even the least bit of an informed opinion.

This is awesome!! Any idea how many quarters it takes to equal a polar bear? Yeah, just shy of 20k. Conversely, one million $1 bills is equal to 2.22 polar bears. Not into weights? Try measures. Didja know that 2,964,335 Shaquille O'Neal's fit into 1 Great Wall of China?
MAKE: Blog: A price to pay for alternative fuels
I just do not understand this. Use veggie oil fuel and you have to pay a fuel tax? BS if you ax me.
Ok, after further thought, I do understand it. One of NC's monikers is "the good roads state", so in order to keep said roads, er, good, taxes must be assessed. However, I do know that extra taxes are levied if the state doesn't meet clean air standards, and I would expect that an alternate fuel vehicle would not be subject to these fines, or at least a discounted rate based on the type of fuel used.

I love this idea!!!
Breast Milk Cheese www.indrani.net
Wow. And I thought Borat was just making a joke. But as it turns out, the protein content is so low, the milk will not curdle and thus cannot be rendered into cheese. Additionally the addition of an acid into the milk to break down the proteins basically renders the milk useless because the proteins are easier to break down than cow's milk.
Well when it comes to infections, anyway. Devin has an IEI - that's an inner ear infection, at least in my book.
Its been a busy day. Adopting out a dog, pediatrician appointments and actually managing to get some work done. Although I'm struggling with getting my classic asp application to invoke some .NET assemblies, I think I found a solution. I'll just have my ASP page invoke an ASPX page. The ASPX page will call the assembly. Case closed.
Now if Devin will just get his ear fixed up we're all good.

We finally got Kirby adopted out. He'll be living on a 12 acre farm with goats, cats, and few other dogs. He'll have his own barn and dog house. We are quite happy about it. We have come to the opinion that most dog rescue groups are useless and rude.

Boing Boing: Johnny Depp "Pirates" cookie does not look like Johnny Depp
It's obviously a slow week around the Internets when all one has time to worry about are the representative qualities of iconographic popsicles and cookies.
Popsicles I can somewhat understand - they are sickeningly sweet and refreshing. The cookies, however, are dull and tasteless. Well, unless you count cardboard and library paste as a taste.
