Trinitrip Part II

Sorry I haven't been posting lately. I've actually been out of the country, in Trinidad again. I must say this trip was actually much more productive than last time, and I got to see a little more nightlife than usual, both from a rural and urban perspective.

I'm actually about ready to retire, since I have to rise at 5am to catch a flight home. I'm planning to write a post or two about the week's events, including a boat ride into Caroni Swamp and venturing out to The Wave and various other hang-outs and around Port of Spain. Stay tuned!

Teeth!

Well finally! They still have some growing to do, but they've finally gotten to a point where they can be seen when Devin is smiling. So here they are... teeth!

Kids Update

Not much new in the way of news. Devin's teeth are about 1/8th of an inch out, and still difficult to capture in a photograph. Maya seems to be prepped to cut a tooth in the next few days. Otherwise, they are behaving quite well and seem to be dealing with teething as best they can. Devin is still Mr. Laid Back, like Dad, and Maya is a handful like Mom :)

Waves

Not the kind that you make when you want to disturb people, but rather those that you execute with a full-on arm/hand-coordinated motion.

Why?

Because Maya is waving now! Hopefully I can get a video on here soon...

Teeth!

Yesterday we discovered that Devin was starting to cut his first tooth! It's visible through the gum. Today, Tooth One discovered he had a brother, Tooth Two on his way in! So needless to say it's pretty noisy around here...

Wii Mii!

I finally got a Wii! Karyn happened upon a pair of Wiis at the local Wallyworld, and snagged one for us - I stopped by Fye and got the last controller they had. After a bit of wrangling, BJ and I traded some Miis, and we are bowling! Woot!

I'm Back!

I've switched hosting providers and most of the blog made it over without a scratch. You might notice the missing images on the last few posts... well I did say most of the blog made it... Luckily I can repost those!

So not much news this week... got some freezing rain last night/this morning but nothing worth writing abo---er, nevermind. :)

TTFN!

It's 16F on my deck.

[[ Oops, I guess I deleted this picture ]]

Maya as Elvis

I guess at some point we'll need to trim that swath of hair just above Maya's right ear. She has no other hair that is the same length on the sides... Ah-uh-huh! Or perhaps it's a bit of payot.

Winter in Atlanta

It's definitely winter here in Atlanta. Temperatures have been averaging around 30F at night, with the occasional dip down to 25F. Daytime temperatures are anywhere between 40F and 65F (although I think that might've been a fluke). So we got to put the kids in their "faincee" winter wares to take them outside!

Devin and The Spoon

Oh, and lest I forget... a Popover supplied by Aunt Roni! Devin has a good grasp of the spoon concept, and knows that it goes in his mouth. But, he's a little short on the depth of his pie-hole. We didn't get barfed upon, but he was gagging a bit!

Sheik Devin

I don't think an explanation is needed.

Stella exhibits odd behavior, since she will usually not allow her bare fur to touch cold leather without a blanket. And she will usually not share a seat with her brother (or anyone else for that matter). What a princess!

Maya as Trump

Ha! Had a little fun with the hair brush and Maya. The Donald!

Slippers at work

In my haste to pack for this current trip, I neglected to bring black shoes. However, Karyn and Deb saw fit to mail me a care package on my last foray to the OC, and it included these wonderful Deerfoam slippers. Finding myself lacking in black shoes, and wearing black pants for which tan shoes are not appropriate, I decided to wear the slippers.

I feel like a housewife, trundling about my abode. All I need is a garish housecoat and some curlers.

Excellent! Woah!

Yes, it's San Dimas... home of Bill and Ted, and starting point for their Excellent Adventure. I'm passing through on my way up to the San Gabriel mountains for a few hours of canyon exploring. I'll post more once I have a chance to download some pictures. It should be pretty interesting.
