We had a house showing the other day, so we took all our dependents (two- and four-legged) to a local park that has playgrounds for furry and non-furry folks. Maya saw fit to climb up the ladder to this large slide, by herself, with no assistance. No fear in this child whatsoever.
Our morning ritual involves feeding our dogs, Cooper and Stella. To begin the ritual, Cooper & Stella must sit and lay down in the doorway to the kitchen, while I prepare their food. Usually they stay put, but occasionally Cooper will inch his way up to the bowl as I'm working, or Stella will simply stand up.
If it happens that I feed the doggies after the kids are done with their own breakfast, they are inclined to assist me by helping scoop food, or pour food in the bowls, or pour food on the floor, in the cabinets, pick up the intentionally-poured food and then redistribute to the dogs or [[gasp]] to themselves.
This morning, Maya decided she wanted to sit with the dogs rather than help out. Fine then, have it your way.
Well when it comes to infections, anyway. Devin has an IEI - that's an inner ear infection, at least in my book.
Its been a busy day. Adopting out a dog, pediatrician appointments and actually managing to get some work done. Although I'm struggling with getting my classic asp application to invoke some .NET assemblies, I think I found a solution. I'll just have my ASP page invoke an ASPX page. The ASPX page will call the assembly. Case closed.
Now if Devin will just get his ear fixed up we're all good.
We finally got Kirby adopted out. He'll be living on a 12 acre farm with goats, cats, and few other dogs. He'll have his own barn and dog house. We are quite happy about it. We have come to the opinion that most dog rescue groups are useless and rude.
Kirby looks like a bit of a border collie / australian shepherd / rottie mix. He's probably 2 years old, but loves to play and gets along well with other dogs.
Tux (l) is a little more nippy, but somewhat smaller. Sam is a snuggle bug and loves to sit in laps.
Stella exhibits odd behavior, since she will usually not allow her bare fur to touch cold leather without a blanket. And she will usually not share a seat with her brother (or anyone else for that matter). What a princess!
