The concept of "hacking" isn't specific to computers anymore. Basically, a hacker is a person who takes an object and repurposes that object to serve some other function, or reworks the object to better perform its intended function.
Case in point: I want to have my oft-used kitchen utensils (whisk, spoons, spatulas, glove, etc) within easy reach (i.e. not in a drawer). The problem? Most refridgerator-magnet-holders are pretty weak and won't hold more than a few simple, lightweight utensils.
It happened that I was walking through our local IKEA and I spotted the Grundtal series of Kitchen Stuff. I picked out a nice metal towel rack, and a magnetic knife rack. I married the two together, and voila! Instant utensil rack!
Now normally this is not a huge cause for celebration, but there is actually a website dedicated to weird people like me who like to hack IKEA things, and my towel bar-cum-utensil rack made the grade!
