Today we picked up the orthosis from the orthotist to correct the positional plageocephaly that both Maya and Devin are experiencing. They were both measured to have "mild to moderate" PP, and the HMO is happily picking up the bill at $3,000 a piece. The helmets are quite cute - we were all surprised. Maya and Devin are still in the trial stages, tomorrow they will have the helms on for 2 hours total. By Tuesday, they will be up to 23 hours a day.
Sorry I haven't been posting lately. I've actually been out of the country, in Trinidad again. I must say this trip was actually much more productive than last time, and I got to see a little more nightlife than usual, both from a rural and urban perspective.
I'm actually about ready to retire, since I have to rise at 5am to catch a flight home. I'm planning to write a post or two about the week's events, including a boat ride into Caroni Swamp and venturing out to The Wave and various other hang-outs and around Port of Spain. Stay tuned!
Not much new in the way of news. Devin's teeth are about 1/8th of an inch out, and still difficult to capture in a photograph. Maya seems to be prepped to cut a tooth in the next few days. Otherwise, they are behaving quite well and seem to be dealing with teething as best they can. Devin is still Mr. Laid Back, like Dad, and Maya is a handful like Mom :)
Not the kind that you make when you want to disturb people, but rather those that you execute with a full-on arm/hand-coordinated motion.
Why?
Because Maya is waving now! Hopefully I can get a video on here soon...

Yesterday we discovered that Devin was starting to cut his first tooth! It's visible through the gum. Today, Tooth One discovered he had a brother, Tooth Two on his way in! So needless to say it's pretty noisy around here...

I finally got a Wii! Karyn happened upon a pair of Wiis at the local Wallyworld, and snagged one for us - I stopped by Fye and got the last controller they had. After a bit of wrangling, BJ and I traded some Miis, and we are bowling! Woot!

I've switched hosting providers and most of the blog made it over without a scratch. You might notice the missing images on the last few posts... well I did say most of the blog made it... Luckily I can repost those!
So not much news this week... got some freezing rain last night/this morning but nothing worth writing abo---er, nevermind. :)
TTFN!
I guess at some point we'll need to trim that swath of hair just above Maya's right ear. She has no other hair that is the same length on the sides... Ah-uh-huh! Or perhaps it's a bit of payot.
It's definitely winter here in Atlanta. Temperatures have been averaging around 30F at night, with the occasional dip down to 25F. Daytime temperatures are anywhere between 40F and 65F (although I think that might've been a fluke). So we got to put the kids in their "faincee" winter wares to take them outside!
